Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Our collection of this diminutive form of the beautifully golden flowered kowhai, to about 3' or so with strongly arching, almost weeping stems of angled ochre gold, festooned with tiny leaves and 1" brightly colored flowers mid to late spring, and occasionally at other times. One of the hardiest of the genus to low USDA Zone 8, with possible dips into 7, even colder if its not outside! Full sun and regular if infrequent water for best stem color, excellent container or bonsai subject.
