Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Loose sprays of dainty yellow to lemony yellow flowers are born in late summer and fall atop sturdy stems and attract a variety of pollinators and other beneficials. Roughleaf Goldenrod is rhizomatous and will slowly spread to colonize an area. This is a durable native that flowers in full sun as well in partly shaded areas making it an easy addition to natural areas, along roadsides, as well as in the perennial garden. Roughleaf Goldenrod or Wrinkleleaf Goldenrod is a common wildflower in our local Longleaf Pine forests. Its spreading habit lends it to use as a tall informal groundcover.
