Nursery contributed plant descriptions

The common name Muck Sunflower somehow seems less than up to the task for a plant that has the potential to provide such a brilliant show of color that begins in late summer and lasts into fall. Loose clusters of 2-3" wide brilliant golden yellow sunflowers are poised on tall stems adorned with rich deep green lance-shape foliage. Depending on moisture levels and fertility this vigorous, native, perennial, fall sunflower may reach up to 8' high. To create fuller, sturdier, and shorter plants tip the Muck Sunflower in late spring.
