Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A lovely sight in the late summer garden, this 4' perennial covers itself with cheery 2" lemon-yellow flowers. S/M
A large specimen to 6' tall with starry, light lemon-yellow flowers from July to September. It's tolerant of dry soils but performs best with summer water. Bring on the bees! Minimum temperature: -20°F
Much sought after at the nursery in our yellow border, this tall late bloomer sports three inch lovely pale yellow flowers with warmer yellow centres. Exactly what you need at the back of the border towards the end of summer. A selection of a naturally occuring hybrid of H. pauciflorus var. subrhomboideus x Helianthus tuberosus.
Lemon yellow daisies born in abundunce on 5-6' stems begin bringing sunshine to your garden in August and carries on through September. 'Lemon Queen' can be pinched back through early July for a shorter stature. Attracts butterflies and is great for informal late summer bouquets.
Masses of refreshing soft yellow blooms from AUGUST -SEPTEMBER just when so much of our gardening consists of clean-up chores! Now this naturally occurring Midwestern hybrid is a big tough boy & he’ll grow from 5-8’ tall (depending on water & soil) but only grows to 3’ across & spreads slowly unlike some other Helianthus we know! Finely textured with zillions of 2” blooms & smallish 3-4” long rich green foliage. A bee & butterfly magnet, it TOLERANTES POOR SOIL & SHADE & OCCASIONAL WATERING. Plant this happy adaptable & useful late season perennial at the back of the bed, in a big empty corner, or where the blooms can spill over a fence or show off your fearless gardening chops & plant it right up front in your parking strip! Deciduous in Winter.
