We listed L. 'Curly Red' last year, but only had a few available. As the name says the foliage is dark green with red highlights. In the winter, the evergreen leaves turn lustrous purple.
This delightful ever-colorful dwarf (18-24") shrub offers curly leathery leaves that change from orange-red in spring to dark-green in summer to an intense red-purple in winter; superb for container/foundation; PSh/M/Acid PP17666
Finally, after YEARS of pleading from our customers, we finally have some of these to sell! Cuter-than-cute evergreen shrub, slow growing to an 18-24” mound packed with curling, twisty foliage that glows red in the cooler months. A textural treat for morning sun to moderate shade, moist well drained, acidic soils (Heather relative); fits right into a dwarf conifer theme, woodland or as a featured specimen in a pot where it can adored by all! Rare & choice.
A compact evergreen shrub with unique curling, bumpy red leaves. New leaves emerge purple red and mature to green with red edging. In fall leaves become more crimson red. Great plant for small spaces as it is slow growing. Found in 1996 by Ron van Opstal in the Neatherlands.
