Nursery contributed plant descriptions

First Blush' is a breakthrough in the Hosta world from breeder Bob Solberg. It is the first burgundy-leaved Hosta. Not only does it have red petioles (leaf stems), a red edge to the leaves, and red in the lower veins but the foliage is also flushed with burgundy across most of the leaf blade! New foliage emerges green quickly turning to burgundy. In cool summer climates like the West Coast the burgundy can remain all summer into fall. In hot summer climates the burgundy can fade to green when temperatures reach the low 30s Celsius. Be the first to own this amazing Hosta. We acquired our plants at great expense and have set the retail price only a bit higher than our actual cost. Plant lust ain't cheap but we're trying to keep the cost down for you.
