Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Incredibly eye-catching 12-18" clumps of bold foliage! Blades emerge in spring a soft chartreuse color before aging to intense golden-yellow with tips which are randomly brushed with blood red. This grass is very showy in fall also when the foliage turns shades of gold, sienna and burgundy. There are endless ways to use such a beauty, container, ponds edge, embankments or massed. A wonderful cultivar of Japanese forest grass for sure! PSh-S/M
New twist on a great plant, this is a sport of ‘All Gold’. Vibrant chartreuse leaves become more intense gold with sun; as plants mature (2 yrs plus), leaves become highlighted with deep crimson. 12-15” high cascading out to 2’ or more with time. Deciduous, morning sun to light shade, decent garden soil; moderate water. One of the loveliest of all grasses, graceful and easy to grow.
Zn 5. Chartreuse leaves highlighted with Crimson.
Hakonechloa SunFlare is a sport of 'All Gold'. SunFlare has the same bright chartreuse foliage in shaded sites or golden foliage in sunnier sites as 'All Gold' but is said to develop tints of red throughout the foliage earlier in the season. The various cultivars of Japanese forest grass are among the best of all grasses and perhaps one of the most beautiful shade foliage plants that you can grow.
