Nursery contributed plant descriptions

The species originated in Southern Europe; however, its double form was in cultivation in England by 1597, when it was known as both Jack-in- Prison and St Katherine’s Flower! I offer a fine double white selection, with many overlapping petals with cut edges. Each flower is surrounded by a lace collar of green fern-like foliage that is followed by decoratively striped, rounded seedpods that make dainty dried arrangements. Lovely in a summer white garden. Easy to grow, sow twice a season for a full season of bloom.
