Pure white dimpled petals with a lovely pearly sheen set off the crown of plummy purple anthers in the center of each bloom. Floating above the ferny foliage, the 1” flowers are a flower arranger's delight. Super long lasting when cut fresh; the dried inflated seed capsules are charming in dried flower arrangements too. Delicate looking but an easy and sturdy grower that hums with bee activity in early summer. Sow twice a season into fertile, well-drained soil. Self sows.

We all love Nigella hispanica – especially this lovely white variety! The pure white horizontal petals are gorgeously contrasted by the central rich purple-black jester’s hats. Blooming atop 18” tall, upright multi-branching stems, these fascinating flowers seem to float above the fine & ferny rich green foliage. The seedpods, which follow are beautiful, too & provide good material for fresh or dried arrangements. Nigellas self-sow reliably, returning each Spring. Totally simple to grow in infertile or average soil.
