Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Marsh Marigold... the big version! Big leaves, big flowers! Glossy, rounded leaves come up in late winter, deep green with purple hues; the large golden yellow flowers come on in early spring. The plant stretches, yawns and reaches out to root with self layering stems. Makes a choice water plant and can be submerged... also wet areas, bogs – needs constant moisture and sun to light shade. We discovered this lovely and RARE plant at Heronswood (before the terrorist took it over).
Very early chrome-yellow blooms float above large, lush, glossy leaves that persist nicely into summer. Buoyant! 1 - 2' T & W Minimum temperature: -30°F
