Nursery contributed plant descriptions

We sold these seedlings in the recent past as R. kyawii . Now that the plants have matured a bit I am a bit suspicious of this name. While they probably technically key out to the rare kyawii , they have the appearance of the more common and widespread facetum (the two are very closely related and probably merge with each other). I have seen these same plants in the wild (half-way between the two species). Either way, in mild gardens these will eventually form large plants with great foliage and some of the best red flowers in the genus. The flowers (crimson to scarlet) do not appear until mid- to late summer. These are grown from seed collected in the wild.
