Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This is a naturally occurring hybrid between two Himalayan species that often occur together in the wild – arboreum and thomsonii. Considered to be a distinct species by some authorities, this hybrid is often common where the two parent species grow together. It forms an attractive plant with intermediate characteristics illustrating the obvious influence of both parents. Usually with bright red flowers in mid-spring. Easily grown but rarely offered for sale. Grown from wild-collected seed.
