This interesting Agave forms colonies of multiple rosettes, each consisting of large, thick green leaves with yellow-orange highlights. It is a beautiful and very impressive plant, but rare in gardens, probably because it is not especially cold hardy. This collection from the northern end of its range near San Diego may be hardy to about 15 to 20 °F.
