Agave macroacantha is an evergreen cactus / succulent with blue foliage. In summer green and purple flowers emerge. Features glaucous texture. Grows well with sun and occasional - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Prefers to be dry in winter. Does well in gritty, lean, rocky and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant and verticillium wilt resistant.
Distinctive small to medium-sized Agave whose rosettes have narrow blue-gray leaves that are evenly spaced and radiate straight out from the center of the plant. Reddish brown spines on this plant are especially long (and considered by some to be beautiful).
