Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A Cistus introduction. This appeared for us as a sport in one of our batches of Taupo seedlings. From a pleasing orangey plant came this solidly olive-green with burgundy tint. To about 14" by 2' wide, the color is perfect for a sun to part shade garden where one might take a long nice afternoon nap. Not on the plants, of course, cuz you would crush them. Spring and early summer flowers are white and float pleasingly above the dark foliage. Fine container plant and useful in the occasionally-watered garden. Vigorous. USDA zone 8a. More sun equals darker color. Iridaceae
