Davidia involucrata 'Aya Nishiki' is a variegated dove tree that has stunning new growth that is gold and green. As the season goes on the color fades but is still attractive until fall.
A small, deciduous tree with new emerging leaves a bright yellow variegation surrounding a green center. Sometimes a purple margin will appear on the leaf. Secondary foliage in summer and fall will have mottled variegation. A newer form selected in Japan, though still quite rare here in the states.
