The artist who did this ?painted fern? used more red than silver but it makes a lovely dense, fairly fast (as its rambling name implies) but non-invasive groundcover 12-24" high. PSh-Sh/M
This hybrid Japanese painted fern is a cross between A. filix-femina and A. niponicum 'Pictum'. It features upright, dark green fronds with maroon to red central stipes (stems). Dense foliage forms an attractive ground cover for moist, shady spots.
A great groundcover fern introduced by John Mickel, distinguished from a common painted fern by having more red in the fronds. 12-18".
