Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Probably the most congested foliage of any Astilbe we have seen. Glossy, stiff and delightfully purple-bronze for much of the season, this mini tops out at 6”. Summer flower spikes are a deep red. Nice for the rock garden, woodland or even trough… well drained, moist, organic soil in part shade to moderate shade. Rare and choice, position where it can be enjoyed. Nice with mini hostas and tiny ferns.
Compact and lovely shell pink flowers over a good dark bronze green foliage clump. Shade to part sun. Selected by the Perennial Plant Association as Perennial Plant of the Year 1994.
