Zn 7. Almost black foliage with pink flowers.
This eye catching dark leaved dwarf pineapple Lily is a hybrid of Eucomis vandermerwei. In mid-late summer plum purple flowers adorn 10" stems. We haven't tried it in open ground here in zone 6, so would recommend growing in containers in colder climates. Wintering over the dormant roots are easy!
This dwarf Eucomis has deep burgundy-black foliage and dark burgundy fall flowers set into the center of a thick rosette of leaves with undulating margins: curious, mysterious, beautiful. It's 10 inches tall, and (music to our ears) like most Eucomis, is fine with average soil. Summer blooming.Ships when dormant. Minimum temperature: 5 °F
A dwarf pineapple lily with burgundy red foliage and flowers. Looks fantastic planted with gold foliage such as Heuchera 'Lime Marmalade' or Veronica 'Aztec Gold' or scotch moss. Very easy to grow and tolerates a wide range of garden conditions. Full sun for best foliage colour. Grow in containers or the ground.
