Be still my heart! Spring foliage on this exciting new perennial emerges lemon yellow infused with some contrasty red… fading to a summer copper-lime tone, spreading to 2’ wide. Doesn’t really need flowers but tall 30” spikes of rose pink appear on red stems in midsummer (good cut flowers). Bright shade, morning sun in cooler areas; moisture retentive, fertile soil; consistent moisture. Good heat tolerance. Also performs well in containers. Glowing woodland beauty. USDA Z4-9 3” pot
For all of you who collect gold colored foliage plants, may we introduce this recent introduction from Darrell Probst. Shimmering golden green foliage is set off by raspberry pink plumes in mid-late summer. Plumes are held on 30" stems above leafy clumps which grow about 18" across. Brightest color is displayed earliest in the season, and cool temperatures add a tint of rosy red to the leaves. Give this Astilbe a spot with a least 4-6 hours of sun and moist soil.
This lovely Astilbe has chartreuse leaves that add a lovely brightness to your shady area. Flower spikes are light pink to lavender. Growth Rate medium
This astilbe with a difference emerges bright chartreuse yellow in spring with highlights of red pigment in the newest leaves. The foliage slowly darkens to a light green by late summer. Very tall red stems carry rose pink flowers in summer. This is a fine shade plant that provides great interest even when not in flower. Appreciates even moisture.
