Nursery contributed plant descriptions

The semi-double pink spring flowers of this compact ?elephant ear? plant look like cherry blossoms (thus sukura'); its round glossy evergreen foliage is deep-purple in winter... a stunner for the border. S-PSh/M
Thick, oval, glossy green leaves under-gird huge rose-pink to cherry blossom flower clusters atop stout red stems in early spring. "Sakura" translates to "cherry blossom". Leaves become a dramatic glossy purple-black in winter. This is a great plant to contrast with something fine and ferny, to cover a bank, or to accompany other plants in a container. Full sun makes it look beat up; part sun or shade yields much prettier results. Do not underestimate the too-oft-inappropriately-used Bergenia! Let's give it a new lease on life.
"Sakura" means "cherry blossom" in Japanese which is a fitting name for this semi-double- to double-flowered bergenia that looks like and blooms at the same time as the cherry trees. Dragonfly 'Sakura' has a compact habit and evergreen foliage with purple black tones in winter.
These pink semi double flowers reminded us of cherry blossoms and "Sakura" means "cherry blossoms" in Japanese. DRAGONFLY™ 'Sakura' has a compact habit like B. 'Pink Dragonfly' but with double to semi-double pink flowers. Besides the lovely double pink flowers in spring, it is evergreen with purple black winter leaves.
