    Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Bergenia cordifolia 'Tubby Andrews' is a unique pig squeak that offers dark green leaves variably splashed with gold and creamy yellow variegation -- some leaves are nearly entirely pale gold while others are variably striped with pale gold, gold, pale green, and green. Some leaves may be entirely green. Every leaf is different! We find that the variegation is strongest when leaves are young. Over time leaves can be expected to green up. Bright pink flowers appear in early spring and are reliably reprieved in fall. Plants are evergreen, great for lighting up the dark days of winter.
