Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Tulipa marjolettii is a tall tulip that can reach 1-2 feet with flowers emerging creamy white to creamy yellow gradually darkening to light yellow as a pink flush begins at the base and gradually spreads upwards. Botanical tulips are miniature to small in size and not far removed from their wild ancestors. They are strongly perennial and will naturalize when happy unlike the large Dutch hybrids which are often treated as annuals or which fail after a couple years.
This wildflowery gem offers small, late, vase-shaped blooms of pale lemon to cream blushed with rose on graceful, wiry stems. A "neo-tulip" discovered in the south of France in 1894, it is most likely a much older garden escape. Cheap counterfeits are common, so for the real thing, come to us! 14", zones 4b-7b(8bWC)
