Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Agave bovicornuta is a large Agave rosette displaying broad, upright green leaves with wickedly jagged teeth. Each tooth resembles a corn horn. This is a slow grower, eventually forming into an impressive plant. This is an easy care, drought tolerant plant that is great in landscapes and containers or can adapt as a houseplant. Provide a well drained soil away from reflected heat. Once established, water infrequently during the hot season.
Partial Shade. Outdoor. Yellow-Green, monocarpic. Light shade. Outdoor. The stalk is large with inconspicuous flowers.

From a few locations in Sonora's western Sierra Madre Occidental this 3-4 ft, acid-green sculpture has most unique fluted and tuped margins. Offsets only sparsely. Happy with dappled shade especially in hottest climates as long as wet leaves do not collect in the rosette center. A beautiful container plant, frost hardy into the upper teens to low 20s F - upper USDA zone 8 to zone 9.
