Nursery contributed plant descriptions

(VARIEGATED TOAD LILY) This tough, pretty perennial is NO toad! Forms a colony of upright stems to 2’ on expanding rhizomes (non-invasive), give it 2-3’ to show off in. Green leaves have a golden edge…blooms appear in fall, pale lilac orchid like flowers spotted with purple, at the perfect time when garden companions are fading. Likes a morning sun or bright shade position and loose, moist, fertile soil. Has been vigorous and forgiving for us. USDA Z6
An attractive variegated form of formosana ex Heronswood stock that Dan brought back from Japan, very nice and quite rare in gardens, I find formosana a bit tender. ZONE 6
