Tricyrtis formosana ‘Autumn Glow’ displays exotic, purple-white flowers with violet spotting on arching stems. Varigated green leaves put on a show of their own, too. Perfect in shady or woodland gardens.
Tricyrtis formosana ‘Autumn Glow’ displays exotic, red-purple flowers with blue-violet spotting on arching stems. Compact, mounding perennial with variegated foliage of dark-green edged with a wide band of yellow. If you need a fall blooming plant for the shade garden, Tricyrtis is a great choice. It prefers a moist but well-drained garden soil. Toad Lilies are generally late to emerge in spring.
A toad lily that is most impressive, not only for its flowers but for with its handsome foliage and tendency to form sizable clumps quickly. Exquisite indigo-blue to violet spotted mini orchid like flowers in Aug-October, carried on sturdy branched 24-30" stems. Larger bolder leaves with very pronounced gold edges. Plants like an evenly rich moist soil in partial shade and spread by stolons forming health colonies where happy.
Soft blue-green leaves, widely edged in gold, surround a violet-spotted flower in midsummer to early fall. Lovely, muted, but still clear variegation! 2' T x 2 - 3' W Minimum temperature: -20 °F
The flowers of this cultivar are pinkish purple with darker spotting and a yellow throat. The leaves have a gold margin which will help light up darker corners of the shade garden throughout the season. This very dependable cultivar will form nice colonies in light to moderate shade in humus-rich soil. This species is from Taiwan.
A showy selection of this species, with color throughout the season. Just the variegated foliage alone, with an exceptional wide yellow margin would be good enough for me. But I'll take the flowers as well, staring in late summer, lavender-pink with yellow throat and fine purple spots. Slow spreading.
