Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Exotic from tuberous foot to arum head: gold-splashed tri-parted leaves are topped by fragrant(?!) 3" pale-green, Jack-in-the-pulpit flowers much of the summer; amazing in woodland or shaded container. PSh/M/GDr
Pinellias are often referred to as the poor sisters of the arisaemas likely due to their less dramatic flowers. Well this pinellia has the arisaemas beat for foliage! The exciting and exotic leaves of this selection are gold or variegated gold. The fragrant white to green "jack-in-the-pulpit" flowers are small but offer long spadices that lick at the air above. Prefers fertile, humus-rich soil in part sun/part shade.
Jack-in-the-pulpit a bit different; out of a tidy clump of three-lobed leaves emerge numerous narrow spathes with protruding 10"(!) long yellow spadix (tongues). Doesn't go summer dormant but blooms until frost! Compared to the green plain form, this selection doesn't seed around as much and the whole plant is chartreuse to yellow. Needs well drained soil.
A gold leaf form of the common Pinellia. Comes true from seed. Needs a bit of sun for the gold color to show.
