Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Lovely all year, this compact (4-6') shrub selected by Princeton N. has large white (pink when dry) flower heads held upright for a spectacular summer show; its handsome leaves turn burgundy in fall, and it has attractive bark. PSh/M PPatent4458
Still one of the finest of the oak leaf hydrangeas. The large white flowers appear in July and eventually turn tan in fall. The fall foliage is purple, red and yellow. The bark peels in the large stems.
Though its name might make you think otherwise, this shrub is a showcase of earth tones. Its 8 in. long panicles of white flowers, which later take on a pinkish hue, stand out like snow against the beautiful cinnamon-brown, exfoliating bark and the large dark green Oak-like leaves that turn reddish purple in autumn. Hardy and undemanding, 'Snow Queen' offers a fantastic fall display full of similar colors and contrasting forms when matched with Panicum 'Warrior'. Hardy to zone 5. (S-0201)
A prolific bloomer, its stout stems ensure that the flowers don't droop. Although the coarse leaves give it an almost tropical appearance, the autumn leaf colors are a rich mix of red, burnt orange, and green. When the notably persistent foliage drops, the tan/brown exfoliating bark is a pleasing, unexpected bonus.
Snow Queen has stiff erect flowers that are bigger and have more florets typical Oakleaf Hydrangea. The plant is tight growing and only reaches about 6' tall.

Blooms stand upright on this majestic Oakleaf. This wonderful variety of Oakleaf is impressive with its strong growth and upright panicle single blooms. Growers consider this variety one of the best of all Oakleaf cultivars. Gardeners love it for its faithful blooms, gorgeous deep green leaves and fabulous fall color. If you've got the space, this is a must have Oakleaf cultivar.
Panicles of white flowers mature to pale pink, fall burgundy-red leaves, cinnamon colored bark. Zones 5-9.
Large, tightly packed panicles of pure white blooms are held UPRIGHT to create an amazing flower display in summer. The blooms fade from white to light pink and the leathery leaves turn a fabulous burgundy in Fall. Selected by William Flemer. Awards: GMPA, PSC PP4458

The magnificent fall color on this hydrangea is the least of its glories. It is a fairly upright shrub to 4'. It can stand full sun and carries its long loose flower panicles all summer. zone 5
Selection of Oakleaf from Princeton Nurseries. Large panicle of white florets held upright over the plant Same great red fall color. One of the better selections.

By: Specialty Ornamentals

Has larger and more numerous florets, which gives the flower a solid appearance. Color turns a good pink as flowers mature, with leaves turning a deep red-bronze in the fall.

Majestic white panicles in mid summer on shrubs 5' x 5' Great bark and fall color. Sun tolerant as most Oak Leaf Hydrangeas are.
Dense panicles of pure snow-white appear in midsummer. They are held upright above the dark green foliage, which turns mahogany in fall. Outstanding cinnamon-brown exfoliating bark. GPP award.
