Convallaria majalis 'Flore Pleno' is a highly sought after, double-flowering lily-of-the-valley. Expect the classic quintessential waxy, fragrant, bell-shaped flowers but in double form. Foliage is bright green, upright and broad. Stems can reach 8 to 12 inches tall and plants can spread to 12 inches or more. Plant under deciduous trees or shrubs and as an effective groundcover in the part sun to shady garden. Naturalizes readily. An early spring pollen source for native bees. Deer resistant. Is there anything so sweet as a shady spot ground-covered in lily-of-the-valley with its softly wafting fragrance... maybe that spot covered with double-flowered ?lilies?!; a lovely rhizomatous woodlander. PS-Sh/M

Langhammer brought us this long ago, we offered it once and it was so popular that it has taken us years to build back stock. The double flowered version is much slower to multiply than the single forms. I understand that there are gold edged and silver edged variegated forms in cultivation, if you grow either of these let us know, as for the streaky variegated form it just looks sickly and has nowhere near the charm of the double clone.____ZONE 4
