Agave gypsophila is an evergreen cactus / succulent with blue and green foliage. In summer yellow flowers emerge. Features glaucous texture. Grows well with sun - mostly sun and occasional - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Prefers to be dry in winter, dry when dormant. Does well in gritty, lean, rocky and well-drained soil. Agave gypsophila is known as the blue wave agave or gypsum century plant. The blue-green leaves have bold and distinctive undulating edges and a rubbery texture with small lateral spines. The undulations increase as plants mature. It is endemic to Mexico.
Undulating, blue leathery leaves with attractive orange shark tooth shaped teeth along the margins. Medium growing agave. Great alone in a pot or in a cactus garden.
