Sky blue flowers grace to enjoy is favorite of Gertrude Jekyll, the famous English garden designer, who lent her name to this selection. Ruffs of cut-edged petals are set off by the thread-like foliage; leading to common names such as Love-in-a-Puzzle, or Devil-in-a-Bush. Round maroon-striped seedpods soon follow, beautiful in winter arrangements. The species was offered in a seed list in 1810; the variety 'Miss Jekyll' late in the century.
This is the darkest of the well-known "Lov-in-a-Mist" - a must grow if you've never tried it. Easy to grow, it prefers poor, well-drained soil and little water. A tremendous asset when mixed in an informal or cottage garden and is naturally charming in a bouquet. Reseeds! Grows 1-2' tall.
