Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This new colour is a nice variation on the theme of blanket flowers. We have had it at the nursery since 2006 and we love it. The bright and cheerful aster-like flowers have orangey-peach petals with warm golden yellow tips. The foliage is medium green and the plants are more upright than other gaillardias. 'Oranges and Lemons' will bloom from June to October!
A vigorous and extremely free-flowering hybrid Indian Blanket that produces a non-stop show of 3-4" bright yellow and orange daisies from spring to frost and possibly year round in mild climates! This exciting new introduction is the most vigorous growing and flowering Gaillardia that we offer. Gaillardias are heat loving & drought tolerant North American natives and hybrids that need good drainage for the best performance. Indian Blanket's drought tolerance and amicable nature make it a good choice for sunny gardens and containers. Debudding at transplanting time will help to ensure good establishment of the tough perennial.
A seemingly endless supply (e.summer into fall) of 2"bright-tangerine tipped with yellow flowers (up to 75! at a time) make this 2' easy-going powerhouse of flowers a winner in any sunny border. Sun/Med/GDr PPAF
Pale orange petals with glowing yellow tips surround a bossy orange disk. At 15-20" it makes agreat cut flower, and makes a great partner to Agastache and perennial Geraniums.
We were won over by this refreshing “Blanketflower” during our visit to The Melissa Garden, a honeybee sanctuary in Healdsburg, CA. Everblooming, save for Winter & early Spring, it’s super-floriferous & a hub for garden critters (butterflies & bees especially). It’s also tolerant of the kind of hot sun & heat that most plants (& people) wilt in. Citrusy 2” blooms are a needed reprieve from the typical Gaillardia “ketchup & mustard” color combo that gives some people we know the willies. To 2’ in height & 18” wide. Easy to grow, even in poor soil, just give it good drainage to keep it around.
