Fringed! golden-yellow petals around a bull?s eye center of amber-red make these extra-large, extra-bright flowers on 18-30" stems head-turners ALL season (summer-frost, especially if deadheaded); drought and heat tolerant. S/M/GDr

Understated flowers for a gaillardia, large amber yellow ray petals, and a warm orangey center. The species is native to a wide swath of the Western half of the US and most of Canada, and copes well with harsh conditions and climates. This is pure G. aristata, and so is much longer lived than most of the common varieties which are hybrids between G. aristata (a perennial) and the annual species G. pulchella. Zone 4

This Blanket Flowers has got my vote! Large golden flowers with fringed tips and amber-red centers on 2' stems make a delicious show. Long lived.
