Whereas most blanket flowers have orangey-red petals, the petals of ‘Arizona Sun’ are red-red, bold and well-saturated with colour and with bright yellow tips. This is also a compact cultivar growing to only 10 inches and with nice grayish-green foliage! Oh, and did I mention it will bloom from June to September?! We tried ‘Arizona Sun’ at the nursery for the first time in 2006 and we were impressed by its compact size, vigour and flower power.

An award winning dwarf, hardy, and consistently compact Indian Blanket that produces a profusion of the 3" deep mahogany red daisies that are edged in golden yellow. No deadheading required for this wonderfully easy selection! This Gaillardia's tidy habit makes it an excellent choice for containers or in the garden. Gaillardias are heat loving & drought tolerant North American natives and hybrids that need good drainage for the best performance. Indian Blanket's drought tolerance and amicable nature make it a good choice for sunny gardens and containers. Debudding at transplanting time will help to ensure good establishment of the tough perennial.
