Nursery contributed plant descriptions

An Almost Eden exclusive! Clusters of soft orange buds open to intense dark orange tubular blooms. Flowering from early spring to fall. Trumpet Honeysuckle is an excellent choice anywhere a 'tame' vine is needed. This selection of our native Trumpet or Coral Honeysuckle was growing in N Louisiana, and was spotted during a Native plant walk with noted Louisiana Plant Taxonomist Dr. Charles Allen, Kent and Sonie Milton, Jeff McMillian, etal. Coral Honeysuckle or Trumpet Honeysuckle is a native, often evergreen vine that is vigorous and easy to grow as well as easy to control, unlike its white and yellow Japanese cousin. We often see a few flowers on our vines in the garden in winter but the main show is in spring with flowers continuing on and off often until fall. Few other woody vines can provide the long flowering show that this wonderful native can provide as well as attracting loads of Hummingbirds.
