Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A more delicate-looking Mexican Orange with glossy, bluish and narrow leaves on pale stems. The small white flowers emerge in spring with the characteristic scent of citrus expected with Choisya, and continue to sporadically appear throughout the season. The unique, evergreen foliage adds remarkable year-round texture and appeal.
Cistus Nursery introduction, this lovely evergreen shrub reaches 3-4’ high and wide, sporting narrow foliage in an attractive blue-green hue. Spring flower clusters are white and pleasantly fragrant (frequently reblooms). Elegant, fine textured, smaller shrub for accent, the shrub border, a fine mixer with dwarf conifers, grasses and perennials. Best in full sun (at least 6 hours), well-drained soil and with occasional water. Deer resistant.
C. ‘BLUE STONE’ - is a new Mexican orange that has needle like deep green leaves. Much thinner leaves than C. ‘Aztec Pearl’ will have fragrant citrus scented white flowers in the spring.
Choisya 'Bluestone' is a Cistus Nursery introduction with finely textured, linear leaflets in shades of greenish blue on evergreen plants growing to four feet tall and wide. Small dime sized white flowers are produced in spring and sporadically through summer offering a sweet, citrus fragrance. Possibly hardy to zone 6. Great for bold foliage contrasts amongst other shrubs or large perennials and for hedging. Provide good drainage.
A Cistus introduction in 2011 from our choisya captive breeding program. This cross between our own wild collection, C. arizonica 'Whetstone' and others has produced a 3-4' finely textured plant with pale stems, narrow, blue-tinted leaves, and dime-sized flowers in spring and possibly twice more in a year. Full sun to part shade, decently drained soil, and an occasional helping of water. Choisya 'Bluestone' has the robustitude of selections such as C. 'Aztec Pearl' and the increased hardiness of high elevation Arizona. Easily frost hardy in USDA zone 7 and possibly zone 6.
