Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Coming from the mountains of west Texas and adjacent parts of Mexico, this Agave has proven itself to be adaptable and popular in a variety of temperate climates. It is related to A. parryi, but has much broader leaves that are silver-grey rather than bluish, and usually forms single rosettes. Although it comes from a region with rather dry winters, it tolerates winter moisture pretty well if drainage is good. When I was there, I was surprised at how lush and green the landscape was. My collection comes from 6,200' in the Davis Mountains, Texas. Certainly hardy to at least -10 °F.
