Nursery contributed plant descriptions

See? There IS something practically everblooming that withstands the ravages of dastardly dry shade! This unknown Alonsoa from Chile blooms all year long in mild climates with 1' plus spikes of tangerine-dreamy orange flowers. With an occasional helping of compost & the occasional cut back (just to the green wood - as a short-lived perennial hard cut-backs might be too much) it will carry on providing the power of orange to your garden almost endlessly. Tolerant of a wide range of exposures & soil types, this Alonsoa's height starts around 2' & may grow upwards of 5', especially if given the support of neighboring shrubs. Certainly taller than wide - I wouldn't expect it to span more than 3'. Re-seeds when happy!
