Syringa reticulata ssp. pekinensis Beijing Gold® is a broadleaf deciduous shrub or tree with green foliage. In spring and summer cream and yellow flowers emerge. Attracts bees and butterflies making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - bright shade and regular - occasional water. Does well in acidic, alkaline, average, gritty, rich and well-drained soil.

This rare and special small (to 25') tree was selected at the Beijing Botanic Garden for its gorgeous clusters of fragrant primrose-yellow flowers and attractive cinnamon colored bark. S/M
A selection made by Zhang Zhiming, Woody Plant Unit Leader of the Beijing Botanic Garden, People’s Republic of China, and shared with The Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois for U.S. introduction. Distinguishing characteristics include unusual primrose-yellow flowers; attractive, cinnamon-colored bark; and unique yellow-gold fall color. Beijing Gold™ was introduced into the United States through the North America-China Plant Exploration Consortium (NACPEC).
This is the yellow flowering version of 'China Snow' and would be a truly outstanding statement in any garden that can accommodate two Lilac Trees!!
