Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This tall climbing (or 6-12' mounding shrub) species from the Himalayas, produces flowers somewhat less full than H. anomala petiolaris but, none-the-less beautiful. PSh/M
Native to the Himalayas and China, this rarely offered subspecies is quite similar to ssp. petiolaris with a few exceptions. Leaves are longer and somewhat more ovate. Flowers are the same lacy white corymbs, but are held more loosely. Winter foliage turns a lovely bronze-red, and new leaf buds are ruby-red, giving the bare branches nice winter interest. Well worth adding to your climbing hydrangea collection!
