Still one of the very darkest red Astilbe hybrids, Fanal is an award winning cultivar producing deep intense red feathery flower spikes in late spring and early summer. The foliage of this easy to grow perennial starts out bronze and deepens to green with red tinges.Astilbe tend to be long lived clump forming perennials that are generally provided with midday and afternoon shade in hot summer climates. Astilbe also makes for an easy to grow cut flower.
With most astilbes blooming in fluffy pastel shades, this brilliant deep red is a stand out. Fanal is a recipient of the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit, ensuring both genetic quality and stellar adaptability to a variety of growing regions.
