    Glossy round leaves in a clump a foot or two tall and wide, with pinky-purple flowers in the spring. The best thing about this plant, however, is the way the foliage turns an intense beet purple-red in the fall and stays that way all winter. Very striking, especially paired with lighter foliage to set it off, like a silver leaf Cyclamen hederifolium. Prefers moist shade, but quite tolerant of a wide range of conditions. Zone 4.
