Lonicera standishii is a broadleaf deciduous or semi-evergreen shrub with green foliage. In winter cream flowers emerge followed by red fruit. Attracts bees and hummingbirds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - mostly shade and regular - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Does well in average, rich and well-drained soil.

A fragrant winter blooming Chinese species that has been in cultivation since 1845 but still remains rare, it will hybridize with Lonicera fragrantissima. Although considered semi evergreen it is generally deciduous here; these are courtesy of Langhammer who collects plants that bloom at odd seasons.
