Lavandula angustifolia 'Ellagance Purple' has deep bluish purple flowers on compact plants to about 14 inches tall. The Ellagance lavenders are gracefully compact, free-flowering and well branched with silvery green foliage.
Ellagance Purple is one of a new series of lavenders, chosen for its deep rich purple color that is unique in seed-grown L. angustifolia. The Ellagance series stand out from other seed and vegetative lavenders for their excellent uniformity, color range, earliness and spike quality. The well-branched plants fill quickly with large, dense flower spikes and very strong stems. Plant habit is spreading and upright with rich gray-green foliage. Winter hardy with good tolerance to foliar diseases compared to other lavenders. and is long-flowering in perennial beds and patio planters.
