Nursery contributed plant descriptions

The narrow deep-pink petals of this unique selection turn up, rather than down, as the late summer flowers follow the sun through its daily course; a 2' x 18" selection from a now rare native of SE cedar glades. S-PSh/M
We saw this growing with Allium 'Millenium' in a modern prairie garden, and it was love at first sight. Curled narrow petals are widely spaced around the central cone and attract butterflies like few other flowers. Grow uncrowded by other plants in dry to regular, well-drained soils.
Colored in rich, deep pink hues, the widely spaced, thin rays of this distinctive long bloomer turn upward and follow the sun throughout the day. While its flowers are a departure from the more typically reflexed Echinacea petals, its narrow, medium green leaf mass is somewhat shorter than other genus members. Closely related to the endangered species that thrives in the cedar glades of central Tennessee, this exciting selection comes to us from Germany's Jelitto Seeds. 'Rocky Top Hybrids' is well-suited for the border or a more untamed setting amidst a stand of Deschampsia and Panicum.
Far and away my favorite echincea. E. tennessiensis is the most perennial of all the species, a robust grower that actually sticks around year after year. Zone 4
