Nursery contributed plant descriptions

We only have 5 plants of E. chrysantha this year, thus the high price. This daphne relative has golden yellow flower clusters that arch over the deciduous plant. During winter, the flower buds are fun to watch. Have seen plants at New York Botanical Garden, so hardy at least to New York City.
Very early in spring, nodding clusters of tiny, fragrant, golden-yellow flowers clothed in satiny, silky hairs decorate the limber branches of this elegant 3-4' shrub. Medium-green, somewhat leathery leaves turn yellow in fall before dropping to expose very showy scars on the bare-branches. This unusual shrub is good for bees (it smells just like honey!) and it was once used in Asia to manufacture high class paper and currency. S-PSh/M
Fragrant bright yellow flowers on bare stems, late winter, deciduous, protect from wind, Zones 7-9
Larger leaves than E. papyrifera, fragrant yellow flowers in early spring. Hairy buds hang on naked stems all winter like silver balls.
