Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This delicious apple was introduced in 1948 and is named for the Mutsu Province of Japan. The fruit is yellow-green skinned with flesh varying in color from white to pale-yellow. It is not at all uniform in shape or size, ranging from round to conical to oblong. The apples on this 12-16' tree are deliciously aromatic and sweet-tart with very juicy flesh. They are suitable for fresh eating, juicing, drying, or cooking and can be stored for up to three months. For fruit set it needs a partner; Granny Smith, Fuji, Gala and Spitzenburg are among the many that will work. Requires 500 chill hours (below 45°F) S/M
Yellow green skin white flesh, mature Sept-Oct, stores well offspring of Golden Delicious
