Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Native to the eastern and southern US, Lonicera sempervirens is a practical, beautiful and versatile vine for the novice and experienced gardener alike. It's a twining vine that is very easy to grow, prune and train. Alabama Crimson is a rich red selection that is a prolific bloomer but many have noted serious foliar disease issues so we recommend other red selections like Crimson Cascade instead. Twining Type; stem twines around structures. USA Native.
A fabulous form of Trumpet Honeysuckle with Crimson blooms from June through November, weather permitting. And it's a form of a Native. You may have to put netting around your yard to keep a flock of Hummingbirds from showing up! And don't forget the word 'Honey' in the Common Name -- it's fragrant to boot! Main bloom May-June then sporadically thereafter.
