Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Orange new growth makes this dwarf shrub a colorful addition to the garden; clusters of pink summer flowers are an added bonus. S/M
Very similar to Goldmound Spirea, Gold Flame Spirea has bright golden yellow foliage and pink flowers. However, the tips of each stem are bright orange or red giving it a much more interesting color pallet. This is best paired with blue or deep green colored plants like many Hosta varieties. If pairing with red or purple plants, Goldmound Spirea is usually a better choice.

Gold Flame Spirea looks its best when pruned into a formal shape in winter, although many people let their specimens choose their own shape with great success. Good for container gardening, will tolerate hard sites.
Deciduous shrub with orangish to bronze-red new growth reminds one of fiery flames. These change to yellow and yellow-green, then finally to a more solid green. In fall, the colors are repeated and the foliage turns back to orangish and red tones. Pink flowers appear in late spring to compliment the foliage.
A dense shrub with bright yellow-green leaves that turn a brilliant coppery orange in fall. Clusters of bright pink flowers bloom from spring to early summer.
A clump forming, deciduous shrub. A fantastic foliage plant, the lance shaped leaves start a coppery pink, then turn bright yellow and gradually fade to green. In Summer bunches of small, deep pink flowers are produced. Ideal for borders or anywhere a hilight of colour is needed. Easily grown in any well drained soil. Cut back as necessary.

Good source of summer color. New growth is pinkish, turning green with maturity. Flat flower clusters of reddish blooms are borne at branch ends. Excellent, low border creating colorful contrast. Low maintenance. Best foliage in full sun. "Appears to be on fire when the new foliage emerges." (Dirr) Leaves remain late, usually into December. Awesome Fall Color!
