A native of Southern Europe and the Mediterranean region, a hardy, evergreen shrub, 10 to 12 feet high, with weak, slender stems, requiring support and bearing yellow, odorless flowers from heavy bloom in spring then sporadically until autumn. An ancient plant -- the first record was in 1545 in Padova Botanic Garden in Venice. Hardy to -5 degrees.
